Feature Focus: A Shiftgig Specialist Profile

Whether you’re already a Shiftgig Specialist looking for insight on the app or interested in learning how we can help you work when, where, and for whom you want, our new monthly blog series, Feature Focus, is here to guide you.

To launch this new series, we’re starting with the basics: your Shiftgig profile.

Making the Most out of Your Shiftgig Profile

  • Updating Your Contact Information

Keeping your contact information updated will ensure you see all available shifts in your area and allow clients to communicate with you about shift details and changes. To update your existing contact information, all you have to do is open the app, go to your profile, and click on “Request Update” to change your address, email, phone number, or even your profile photo.

  • Assessing and Refreshing Your Skills

Shiftgig uses skill tagging to identify each Specialist’s qualifications, skill sets and certifications. The tags are then used to determine which shifts they are eligible to view and claim within the app.

To view your skill tags, visit your profile and look under the section called, “Skill tags.” If your work experience has changed since you’ve been hired, you can request an update or additional skill tags through the skills section of your profile. Also, be sure to stay on top of any certifications that are expiring.

Insights from your Shiftgig Profile

  • Estimated Earnings

Did you know you can see your potential earnings based on your upcoming shift schedule? You now can with our estimated earnings feature. Under the “My Shifts” section of your app, you’ll see a box that estimates the total dollar amount you’ll earn by working your upcoming claimed shifts. This allows you to better plan your work schedule by knowing if you will successfully meet your financial needs.

  • Past Shift Insights

When visiting the “Past Shifts” section of your profile, you can see a list of your most recent shifts as well as share feedback on them. After a shift is over, this is also where you complete your timecard for the hours worked and have the opportunity to rate the shift based on your experience. Completing this section of your profile allows us to process your hours more quickly and gives us direct feedback on the experience you had working this shift.

  • Reliability Score

The reliability score feature helps Specialists track their perceived reliability as a worker. The score is calculated based on the Specialist’s record over claimed vs. worked shifts. If you complete shifts successfully, your reliability score will improve. If you pick up shifts and drop them at any point, especially last minute, then it goes down. Having visibility into your reliability score allows you to know your track record with Shiftgig and alerts you when you could improve.
