We’re excited to announce the upcoming release of a new feature in our app that significantly improves worker check in and check out. This update changes the way workers record hours and ensures they’re paid accurately. This feature focus post details the benefits and changes of the verified timekeeping for both clients and workers.
What Does Shiftgig Verified Timekeeping Mean for Workers?
Workers will now clock in at the start of their shifts and clock out when shifts are over rather than submitting a timecard afterward. If you’re a specialist, it’s important to remember the following:
- Location services must be turned on for the Shiftgig app. We use your location to help confirm your hours.
- After you’ve arrived on-site, checked in with the on-site supervisor/contact and are ready to work, clock in on the app. Please note -- your time will not be recorded properly if you try to check in when you’re not on site.
- When your shift is over clock out and record your break (if applicable).
- Clients may still have specific clock-in preferences in addition to app recorded hours. If a client prefers you also sign in on a sheet or clock into their system, you should still do so.
What Does Shiftgig Verified Timekeeping Mean for Clients?
Getting paid on time matters. In order to pay workers more efficiently we’ve improved the way we collect information from them during shift check-ins. The changes to timekeeping confirm Specialists are on-site when the shift starts and ends. This allows clients to confidently rely on the information provided from workers’, and streamline the paying and billing process.
Following this initial release of new Verified Timekeeping, we’ll continue to enhance the process to include reminder notifications and more accurate ways record break times.
